Privacy Policy
The short version
- We collect what you give us (name, email, your message, the niche ideas you type into our tool) and basic technical information about how the site is used.
- We use it to run the waitlist, answer you, send what you asked for, and improve Completux.
- We do not sell your personal information and we do not use it for advertising profiles.
- Our service providers process it for us under their own terms: Cloudflare (hosting, security, database, transactional email) and MailerLite (email newsletters).
- You can ask us to see, correct, or delete your information, or stop our emails, at any time.
- Completux is for people 18 and older.
1. Who we are
Completux is a UI/UX/Product Design education business operated by [CONFIRM: legal entity name, for example "Completux, LLC" once formed, otherwise Marcus Woodworth doing business as Completux] ("Completux," "we," "us"). This policy covers completux.com and the pages on it: the home page, the signup page, the Niche Discovery tool, and this page. It also covers the emails we send. Our paid community and course content are hosted on Skool, which has its own policies (see section 11).
2. What we collect
| Where | What we collect | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Waitlist signup | First and last name, email, your reason for joining, the referral link you came from, a confirmation that you are 18 or older, and the time you signed up and confirmed your email. | To hold your place, confirm your email, and rank Founding Member status. |
| Contact form | Your name, email, and message. | To reply to you. |
| Niche Discovery | Your name, email, your consent choice, the niche ideas you type in, and the results of each run (score and which gates a niche has not yet cleared). | To give you your results, send them by email, and improve the tool. |
| Technical and usage information | Pages viewed, the site or link you came from (including UTM campaign tags), scroll depth, which buttons and cards you use, how far you get through our forms, your country, your device type (phone, tablet, or desktop), and a random session ID that is not linked to your name or email. | To understand what works and fix what does not. |
| Security signals | Our bot check (Cloudflare Turnstile) and our hosting provider see technical information from your browser, such as IP address. We use a one-way scrambled version of your IP address to limit repeated submissions. We do not store your raw IP address with your form data or usage events. | To block spam and abuse. |
| Email activity | If you subscribe to our newsletters, our email provider may record whether an email was delivered, opened, or clicked, and your unsubscribe status. | To send relevant email and honor unsubscribes. |
We do not collect payment card details on these pages, and we do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information such as government IDs, health data, or precise location. Please do not include any in your messages or in the niche ideas you type.
3. How we use it
- To run the waitlist, verify your email, and rank Founding Members.
- To answer your messages and requests.
- To send you what you asked for, such as Niche Discovery results.
- To send you Completux updates and launch news, only if you opted in, and always with an unsubscribe option.
- To analyze and improve the site, the tools, and the curriculum, using aggregated or de-identified information where possible.
- To protect the site and our community from spam, fraud, and abuse, and to comply with the law.
We do not make decisions about you using automated processing that has legal or similarly significant effects.
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share it only in these ways:
- Service providers that work for us: Cloudflare, Inc. (website hosting, security and bot protection, our database, and transactional email such as confirmation links) and MailerLite (email newsletters and sequences). They may use your information only to provide services to us, under their own terms and privacy policies.
- Legal and safety: when the law requires it, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Completux, our members, or others.
- Business changes: if Completux is merged, acquired, or sold, your information may transfer to the new owner, who must honor this policy.
- With your direction: when you ask us to share something.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. We do use a few small, functional items in your browser: your session ID (in session storage, cleared when you close the tab), your name and email for Niche Discovery so we do not ask you again (in local storage on your device, which you can clear in your browser settings), and your saved referral link. Cloudflare Turnstile and Cloudflare's network may set or read technical cookies or signals to detect bots and keep the site secure. We honor the Global Privacy Control signal as an opt-out preference to the extent any sale or sharing applies (we do not sell or share).
6. Our emails
We send two kinds of email. Service emails (such as your confirmation link, your Niche Discovery results, or a reply to your message) are sent because you asked for them. Marketing emails (updates and launch news) are sent only if you opted in, for example by ticking the box on our forms or confirming your waitlist spot. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link and shows our contact details. You can also unsubscribe by replying to any email or writing to [CONFIRM: privacy email, for example privacy@completux.com]. We will still send service emails that you request.
7. How long we keep it
We keep waitlist, Niche Discovery, and contact information for 24 months after your last activity with us (your last signup, message, tool use, or email interaction), then delete or anonymize it. If you become a member, we keep your information while your membership is active and for 24 months afterward. Aggregated analytics that do not identify you may be kept longer. We may keep limited records longer where the law requires it or where needed to resolve a dispute. You can ask us to delete your information sooner (section 8).
8. Your rights and choices
Wherever you live, you can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop emailing you. If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended (CCPA/CPRA), gives you the right to know what we collect and how we use and share it, to access a copy, to correct and delete it, to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information (we do neither), to limit the use of sensitive personal information (we do not collect it), and to be free from discrimination for using these rights. Some other US states give similar rights.
How to make a request: email [CONFIRM: privacy email] with the subject "Privacy request" and the email address you used with us. We may ask you to confirm it is you (for example, by replying from that address). We respond within 45 days, and let you know if we need more time. You may use an authorized agent; we may need proof of their authority. If we deny a request, you can appeal by replying to our response, and we will review it. We do not charge for reasonable requests.
Do Not Track: our site does not change how it works based on browser Do Not Track settings, but see section 5 for Global Privacy Control.
9. Age
Completux is for people 18 and older, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has given us information, contact us and we will delete it. Anyone under 18 who wishes to take part must first contact us, with a parent or guardian, and may only join with our written approval.
10. Security
We protect your information with encryption in transit (HTTPS), access limited to those who need it, bot and abuse protection, one-way hashing of confirmation tokens so they cannot be read back, and a secured database with backups. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your information, we will notify you and regulators as the law requires.
11. Other sites and where your information is processed
Our pages link to other services, such as Skool (our community and course platform), LinkedIn, and others. Their practices are governed by their own policies, not this one. We are based in the United States and our providers process information in the United States and other countries where they operate. By using our site, you understand your information may be processed there.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Completux grows or the law changes. We will post the new version here with a new "last updated" date, and if a change is significant, we will also tell you by email or on the site before it takes effect.
